Due to geometrically symmetrical moving parts, the compressors have extremely low vibration and are tested in accordance with AHRI/European Standards. Check valves at suction and discharge port ARE provided as standard part of the OEM equipment.
HIGH EFFICIENCY, LOW NOISE DRIVE EXTERNAL MOTORS are fitted to the entire screw chiller range. These motors are also specially designed to offer low noise operation and come with IP 55 protection.
A HIGH EFFICIENCY 3 STAGE OIL SEPRATOR with secondary side coalesces is provided to guarantee a low oil carryover rate. Bulls-eye type sight glasses are included to indicate oil level in both the primary and secondary sections of the separator. The oil separator is designed and the constructed in accordance with Section VIII of the ASME code. Main injection oil for cooling and tip sealing is supplied to the compressor by positive gas differential pressure. All lubrication oil passes through a 100 mesh strainer while oil to the compressor bearings, balance pistons, shaft seal and capacity controls are filtered additionally by 15 microns, extended surface area, cartridge type filter. Oil heater isstandard part of the open screw chiller equipment and controlled via the microprocessor to maintain the desired oil separator temperature during off cycles. A Shell & Tube type water cooled or air cooled type oil cooler is provided to maintain proper oil supply temperature to the compressor. A taper-lock curved jaw coupling with high grade all steel multi-disc centre memberis mounted on the compressor. The coupling is maintenance free with a removable centre member allowing replacement of the shaft seal without removal of the compressor or motor. An OSHA compliant coupling guard is also provided as standard. Shim-less motor mounts are used for anchoring the motor to mounting angles on the oil separator. This allow for fast, easy, and accurate verticals and lateral motor alignment.
HIGH COP/EER as a result efficient condensing of the refrigerant. These open screw chiller units are designed to meet the applicable requirements of ASHRAE/ANSI 15 Safety Code. Since the condensers are generously sized, efficient condensing of the refrigerant leads to lower IKW compared with other available brands.
SHELL & TUBE EVAPORATOR is built with copper tubes of 19 SWG that enables them to withstand hard water with PH greater than 8. The copper tubes contain Flamingo patented star turbulator inserts that provide turbulence to the refrigerant flowing through the copper tubes. As a result of this turbulence these Shell & Tube evaporators have extremely efficient heat transfer with the copper tube. The shell is manufactured from high-grade steel. The evaporator is designed as per ASME Section VIII Div.1.
ULTRA EFFICIENT CONDENSING using outer finned copper tubes results in better heat transfer as a result of increased surface area of the copper tube in comparison to a copper tube without finning. The copper tubes are of 16 SWG and are finned on the outer surface for up to 26 fins per inch. The copper tubes are mechanically expanded on a torque controlled process on the tube sheets that are manufactured on imported VMC machine. Since the tube sheets are manufactured on VMC machines the pitch between copper tubes is precise.
ECONOMIZER FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY is provided as per refrigerant used and depending upon the chilled water/brine temperature range desired. Economiser is provided as standard part of supply in process chillers opted for evaporating temperature of 5 deg. C or lower. The economizer/sub-cooler enhances the overall capacity of the chiller by 10%, and reduces the power consumption, thereby increasing the overall Coefficient of Performance (COP).

ADDITONAL WATER/AIR COOLED TYPE OIL COOLER is added depending upon the refrigerant used and the chilled water/brine temperature desired. The oil cooler helps maintain the oil temperatures flowing through the compressor within safe limits. In case of water cooled type oil cooler, an actuator valve is used to regulate the supply of cooling water depending upon the oil temperature. In case of air cooled,the oil cooler fan operation is automatically controlled through the microprocessor.
LIQUID INJECTION is a standard feature and is used to cool the compressor bearings. As soon as the discharge temperature exceeds the normal range, an electric solenoid coil injects liquid refrigerant to keep the temperature within limits. This feature enhances the life of the screw compressor.
THERMOSTATIC EXPANSION VALVE is provided as a standard part of the water cooled screw chiller equipment. Electronic expansion valve can be optionally provided.
CONTROL PANEL with IP-65 protection is provided as standard part of the water cooled equipment.
MICROPROCESSOR BASED CONTROLLER is a standard part of the water cooled screw chiller equipment. The controller allows numerous set points that can be configured to particular set of values that may be considered within the safe operating range. In case of any breach in any of the set point value the controller will trip the chiller after the fed safety delay period has passed and display it on the LCD display. Besides, the controller automatically adjusts the capacity in a stepped format making them ideal for variable load applications.
