EFFICIENT TWIN ROTOR SCREW COMPRESSOR
that is semi-hermetic in construction, thereby
making it maintenance friendly. Due to geometrically
symmetrical moving parts these compressors have
extremely low vibration and are tested in accordance
with AHRI/European Standards. These screw compressors
come with an internal oil injection system. Suction
and discharge check valves are provided as standard.
HIGH COP/EER as ammonia offers
exceptional efficiencies across a wide range of
operating conditions, cooling water or other secondary
fluids including glycol. For typical water chilling
applications, ammonia offers a 20% increase in
performance compared with standard screw chillers
using HFC’s. It is also the most environment
friendly and future compatible refrigerant currently
available. These durable industrial Ammonia chillers
are designed to meet the applicable requirements
of ASHRAE/ANSI 15 Safety Code.
HIGH EFFICIENCY, LOW NOISE DRIVE EXTERNAL
MOTORS are fitted to the entire Buffalo
Ammonia Chillers range. These motors are also
specially designed to offer low noise operation
and come with IP 55 protection.
HIGH EFFICIENCY 3 STAGE OIL SEPRATOR
with coalescing filter elements. Oil
separators constructed according to current ASME
codes, and furnished with access manway, sight
glasses for oil level inspection, electrical heating
element, dual relief valves, and oil drain valves.
FLODDED TYPE SHELL & TUBE EVAPORATOR
is built with SA179 tubes of 17 SWG that enables
them to withstand hard water. Since SA179 tubes
are immersed in liquid ammonia refrigerant, it
provides very high COP, outstanding part-load
performance and low operating costs. Unlike direct
expansion design evaporators, flooded evaporators
are cleanable as the liquid to be cooled flows
inside the SA179 tubes.
CLOSE EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE AAPPROACH
with the use of low-pressure receiver system ensures
flooded evaporator operation. This eliminates
the need for a waste superheat zone within the
evaporator, which is typically required for direct
expansion systems. Flooded operations results
in a closer approach between the refrigerant evaporating
temperature and outlet water temperature.
EFFICIENT AUTOMATIC OIL RECOVERY
is one of the prime concerns while choosing between
a flooded and a direct expansion type chiller.
Flamingo’s Ammonia chillers employ automated
refrigeration controls to recover oil efficiently.
ULTRA EFFICIENT WATER COOLED CONDENSER
built for equatorial conditions with condensing
temperatures of 45 degree Celsius considered as
the basis of design. Efficient condensing of the
refrigerant results in power savings and lower
maintenance costs.
ECONOMIZER FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY
is attached to Buffalo ammonia chillers meant
for low temperature applications. The economizer/sub-cooler
enhances the overall capacity of the Ammonia chillers
by 10%, and reduces the power consumption, thereby
increasing the overall Coefficient of Performance
(COP).
CONTROL PANEL with IP-65 protection
is provided as standard part of the ammonia chillers
equipment. All control and electrical cables are
provided with thermally printed ferrule clearly
indicating connection terminals. The control panels
are powder coated and mounted within the chiller
framework. In case of Magnum controller, the microprocessor
section and electrical section are housed in separate
sections of the control panel. For ease of installation
and servicing, all control and electrical wires
are mounted on cable trays running through the
length of the ammonia chillers on either side
and is a standard part of the Ammonia chillers
equipment
ADVANCED MAGNUM STEP-LESS CAPACITY
makes Buffalo ammonia chillers extremely efficient
in part load conditions (25%~100%). Besides the
Magnum controller allows direct communication
through RS-485 to MODBUS and can be easily integrated
to BMS systems (Building Management Systems).

OPTIONAL REMOTE MONITORING
guarantees trouble free operation along with the
added advantage of leaving maintenance issues
to the experts themselves. Our control centre
would be routinely receiving real time information
from the microprocessor regarding the ammonia
chillers health and this information will be used
to perform preventive maintenance, if required.
The magnum controller provides PC connectivity
and remote monitoring with or without BMS through
dedicated telephone phone line and optional gateway
and modem.
OPTIONAL VFD combines the reliability
of a screw compressor with the energy savings
of a variable frequency drive (VFD). This simple,
reliable combination achieves ultra-high efficiency
levels while lowering the cost of ownership. The
Schneider ‘ATV range’ of VFD’s
are perfectly adapted to the Flamingo Buffalo
range of ammonia chillers.
INDIVIDUALY CUSTOMISED solutions
are also available for remote air-cooled or evaporative
condenser and for twin or multi-packages, designed
for large capacity requirements. Buffalo series
ammonia chillers are also available with Plate
type heat exchangers as condenser and/or evaporator.
